Hire Your Real Estate Agent
Buying a home or property is an exciting chapter. The agent you pick will determine your experience throughout the process. I strive to have the home or land buying process go as smooth and simple as possible for my clients. To achieve this goal I accentuate to go above and beyond with communication throughout each step, use tools such as NetworkOne to help you find homes not even listed on the market yet, and strong negotiating skills to get your offer accepted. Growing up in the Brainerd Lakes Area gave me the abilities to contribute local knowledge, suggestions on investment homes, and unveil all the beauty this area has to offer.

Find A House You Love
Once you’re pre-approved and have an agent the fun begins. To start your search for a home we will discuss your wants and needs. What would you ideally like to have in a future property versus what must you have. After seeing a few different homes your list may change, let me know so we can readjust your search. After finding the perfect home, we will submit an offer, negotiate terms, get an inspection (if wanted), do a final walk through, and be closing on the house before you know it.
Step 1: Get pre-approved
The process of getting pre-approved can take around ten days depending on you having your paperwork ready. During this time your lender will look over you (and your partners) credit score, income, and other paperwork. Being pre-approved before the house search is key to showing sellers and agents you’re a serious buyer.
Step 2: Choose a realtor
As mention above, finding an agent with local knowledge and willing to put in the work for you is crucial to a successful experience.
Step 3: Find out what you want in a home
During this step we will find out your wants versus your needs in your next property. You may require to live in Baxter, MN and want to be on a dead end.
Step 4: View properties
Here we will activity be searching for your next property. During this time I’ll set you up in an auto search, consistently watch the market, call prospecting sellers that have a home with the criteria you’re looking for, set you up on network one.
Step 5: Make an offer & negotiate
After we find the house, we need to make it yours. While writing up your offer, I will present it in the best possible light for the sellers. Counteroffers are very common, therefore you should be prepared to be flexible on price, closing date, or repairs.
Step 6: Get an inspection
Inspections are the best way to protect yourself as a buyer. During this time an outside professional will come into the house and look over the homes structure and system. This gives you a clear idea of what you’re buying and could save you thousands in the long run.

Step 7: Do a walk through
A walkthrough occurs a few days before closing and is another way to protect yourself as a buyer. Although it is not required, it is strongly suggested. During this time you can go through the property and make sure everything is in the same condition you last seen it, any repairs required are completed, and any personal property stated on the offer is left.
Step 8: Finalize funds to close
The last big step is getting your money in line for closing. Edina Realty title suggests a cashiers check as a method of payment. Your title company will be sending you information about your specific closing time.
Step 9: Closing
During closing you will have to sign your life away, by signing a ton of paperwork. The keys are passed to you and the house is yours!
